Hemp prices are moving in different directions. Hemp Benchmarks' September market summary, published September 30, reports gains for CBD flower alongside declines in several other cannabinoid benchmarks. These are wholesale indicators, not Texas store prices. September report.
The numbers—and their timeframes
- CBD flower: the publisher reports a 14% gain since January 2026.
- Delta-8 THC distillate: its benchmark fell 23% from a year earlier.
- CBN isolate and CBC distillate: average wholesale prices each fell more than 40% since September 2025.
Those comparisons cover different periods. They should not be read as changes that all happened in September alone. Figures and comparison periods.
What this means for Texas buyers
CLOUDWIRE's practical takeaway: retailers, manufacturers, distributors and online sellers should compare like-for-like supplier quotes. Product form, concentration, batch documentation, order size and delivered cost matter more to a purchase than a broad headline about “hemp prices.” A flower trend does not tell a buyer what a finished gummy or beverage should cost.
For consumers, these figures do not establish that a Texas shop has raised or lowered its prices. The release provides market context, not a promised saving or a recommendation to buy any particular product.
How much can the report tell us?
Hemp Benchmarks says its contributor network supplies wholesale transaction data that it anonymizes, aggregates and analyzes. Publisher's description of its data process.
The public September summary does not provide a Texas-specific breakdown or a transaction sample count. CLOUDWIRE has verified what the publisher reports, but has not independently audited its underlying transactions. The different trends deserve attention; they do not establish conditions at every supplier.
The next useful comparison will be subsequent monthly data showing whether these moves continue. One release cannot establish the direction of future retail prices.
